UK Albums Of The Month: July Edition

July has been a big month for UK music releases! We’ve decided to reignite the AOTM series, as we really enjoy doing these articles and see lots of value in it for you people! Here’s a list of some of our favorite UK albums to come out in July. Be sure to check these projects out if you're looking for some new music to dig into, and be sure to show support by following the artists on their socials if you like their music. Alright, lets get into this:

1. Dave - We’re All Alone In This Together [Rap]

British-Nigerian UK Rap Prodigy Dave’s second album is as technical, insightful, and creative as his first, which previously almost seemed to be unsurpassable. We’re All Alone In This Together is definitely one of the best UK Rap albums to come out in recent years along with J Hus’ Big Conspiracy, Ghetts’ Conflict Of Interest, and Che Lingo's The Worst Generation, and we’re almost certain that it will stay amongst the best albums to come out from the UK for many years to come!

2. Rasharn Powell - Dusk & Dawn [RnB, Soul]

Rasharn Powell is definitely an artist who we’re very excited to follow over the next few years. The fast-emerging R&B star continues his fine run of form as he delivered one of the best UK RnB/Soul albums that I’ve stumbled across in recent years. The carefully constructed 11-track project is a magical collection of Rasharn’s most incredible musical moments to date!

3. Emma-Jean Thackery - Yellow [Jazz]

The long-awaited debut album from the incredible multi-instrumentalist and producer Emma-Jean Thacket is a soul-touching blend of Experimental Jazz, Electronica, and Alternative. If you’re looking for an album to broaden your horizons this one is certainly for you!

4. Sneakbo - Jetski Wave 3 [Rap]

Following a string of recent top-quality releases, Sneakbo decisively delivers his latest hood project ‘Jetski Wave 3’. Coming through with features from some of the hottest artists in the UK right now such as Pa Salieu, M24, Ard Adz, Backroad Gee to name a few, as part of the ‘Jetski Wave’ mixtape series, the Brixton-based rapper returns with yet another iconic body of work to add to his impressive discography.

5. Dylan Cartlidge - Hope Above Adversity [Alternative]

Dylan Cartlidge's debut album Hope Above Adversity is a body of work that is all about embracing differences and rising above hardships, childhood trauma, and tumultuous adversity. The project showcases an eclectic collection of hip-hop, catchy pop, indie rock, blues, and even gospel delivered with an overlying message of positivity and hope.

6. Manga Saint Hilare, Lewi B - Glow In The Dark [Grime]

Manga Saint Hilare teamed up with producer extraordinaire Lewi B. to create one of his best projects to date. From beginning to end this surprise package is filled with top-tier grime riddims and banging garage vibes. If you’re looking for an album to take you back to the good ole days of UK music, this one is definitely for you!

7. Unknown T - Adolescence [Drill]

Unknown T is certainly amongst my favourite Drill rappers and I’m proud to say that Adolescence has 100% solidified that! The album proves that he is capable of applying his fire flow and cadence over an array of different sounds and styles. Another bonus is the album’s hot feature list ranging from Potter Payper, Nafe Smallz, M Huncho, M1llionz and Digga D.

8. Joel Culpepper - Sgt Culpepper [Contemporary RnB]

Joel Culpepper’s debut album Sgt Culpepper is an eclectic blend of classic sounds from traditional funk and soul, and influences from modern Contemporary RnB. With executive production from Swindle, and mastering from Joker, this groundbreaking body of work is a testament to the reputation he has already built as a dynamic performer and songwriter over the past few years. What an artist.
